Space Quest

Space Quest II
31 December 2004 It was more than 2 years ago when we let the world know about our project. :) Many things happened since that time...

We visited Sierra's office in Bellevue presenting alpha version of the software to Sierra's officials. It happened just before the office was closed by Vivendi and no decision was made...

We visited Vivendi Universal Games HQ in Los-Angeles presenting "almost ready" QuestVM with our vision on what needs to be changed in old Sierra's classic to make it attractive on the mobiles. VUG didn't want to be a publisher but was ready to sell the license. The problem was that we were not ready to afford the price...

Was it a commercially successfull project? You would say no, and we would agree with you.

But! At the same time - who can say that he or she had a breakfast with Al Lowe (!) and a lunch with both Al Lowe and Ken Williams (!) ? :)

New year is coming. Let your wishes come true! HAPPY NEW 2005 YEAR!! :)

12 August 2004 The link is updated. :) :)

28 July 2004 LARRY VM FOR SERIES 60 IS HERE: LARRY.SIS!!

Press joystick to emulate 'Enter'. Left soft key is 'Esc'; right soft key exits the game.
Use 'ABC' or 'pencil' key to switch between normal input mode and functional keys mode.
In the normal input mode you enter the game commands the way you type a SMS without T9 support.
In the functional keys mode key '5' will work as a functional key 'F5' (Save Game), key '7' as a functional key 'F7' (Load Game) etc.

Larry VM for Series 60 comes with _no_ game resources. You will need the following files from your original Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lisards package to copy to the same folder on the phone (\system\apps\larry) where you have installed Larry VM:
logdir
object
picdir
snddir
viewdir
vol.*
words.tok

When uninstalling Larry VM it will delete all saved games (lllllsg.*) but not game resources you copied manually.

Larry VM will run only Larry. And there are no questions in the beginning on the game! :)
Enjoy!!

24 June 2004 Colin, thanks for another great review! :) This time it's about Space Quest. (In German, can be automatically translated to English.)
Some info at QuestZone (in Russian).
23 June 2004 The Official Time Quest Homepage (the game by Chad Goulding) is located here.
The downloads for Series60 phones and Nokia Communicator 9210/9290 are on this page. :)
15 June 2004 Got the link... :)

31 May 2004 SPACE QUEST VM FOR SERIES 60 IS HERE: SQ.SIS!!

Space Quest VM for Series 60 comes with _no_ game resources. Our intent by making Space Quest VM public is to increase the interest to mobile quest gaming and attract Sierra/Vivendi's attention, not software piracy. You will need the following files from your original Space Quest package to copy to the same folder on the phone (\system\apps\sq) where you have installed Space Quest VM:
logdir
object
picdir
snddir
viewdir
vol.*
words.tok

When uninstalling Space Quest VM it will delete all saved games (sqsg.*) but not game resources you copied manually.

And one more comment: Space Quest VM will run only Space Quest :).
Enjoy!!

31 Jul 2003 Short FAQ is created to address common questions we get from forums and via e-mail:
Q: Does your Symbian Series 60 AGI engine support Sierra quests?
A: Yes, our engine is capable to run all Sierra AGI quests including Space Quest I, II, King's Quest I, II, III, Leisure Suit Larry I, Police Quest I, Black Cauldron, Gold Rush, Manhunter I, II and others.
Q: When legendary Sierra quests will be available on Symbian platform?
A: We will not release the games until we get a permission on that from copyright holders. Thanks for understanding. The negotiation is in progress.
Q: Will it be possible to get just the engine without games?
A: The decision on that is not made yet.
Q: Do you plan to support other Symbian devices in addition to Series 60 (Nokia 3650/7650 etc.)?
A: Yes, we do. Nokia Communicator 9210/9290 will go first. Exact dates will be communicated later.
Q: Where is full version of Time Quest?
A: Time Quest is a game by Chad Goulding. According to the information we have Chad doesn't plan to release full version.
